WALKING HIKING and mountaineering
There are many paths that originate from Oz Station and Allemont village, and some wonderful routes close by. There is a climbing wall in Oz (free) and the 33m high Eau d’Olle Needle in Allemont. Oz Station
Seven circuits start from Oz Station, ranging from 45 minutes to 4 hours in duration for all types of walkers. Forest tracks and trails lead you to traditional villages, forest views and waterfalls. These circuits are marked and maintained to be accessible to everyone, regular walkers and nature lovers:

Hiking trails in the Eau d’Olle Valley are more demanding.

Hiking is not just limited to these suggested routes, you can hike throughout Oisans massif using the numerous trails & paths. Look out for the famous GR trails (sentiers de Grande Randonnée), as seen on IGN maps (Institut National de Géographie, the French geographical institute) and the OBP trails (OBP, Oisans au bout des pieds), which are marked by signs in wood with a marmot and a number on it, the number corresponding to the OBP trail described in OBP guides. There are 6 guides, 6€ each, all available at the Tourist Information Centre of Allemont.

Mountaineering
There are seven different Via Ferratas (first approach to climbing) which involve climbing a secured route on a rock face using fitted equipment (wires, ladders and foot bridges), wearing a harness but without having to use mountain climbing techniques. Although open to everyone from 8 years of age onwards, via ferrata is a mountain sport with a number of rules to be followed to ensure you enjoy your mountain experience.
